Morocco is truly the UK's nearest exotic location. It has many attractions, from the chaotic city of Marrakech to the quiet Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains. The climate is excellent coupled with the fact Morocco is only little more than 45 minutes flight time from neighboring Spain the area is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination.

The country's close association with France (it was ruled by the French from 1912 to 1956) means that it has long been popular with French buyers. As yet though, British buyers are still to discover Morocco's charms in any great numbers. However, this is changing as the Moroccan government has introduced policies to encourage foreign investment and instill greater confidence in the buying process.

Prices in Marrakech are now comparable to those in any major European city, yet land prices on Morocco’s coast remain low as international quality development is only just beginning.

Of all Morocco’s coastline it is the Mediterranean coast which is the most sought after due to its stunning beaches and warm shallow sea. The coastal property market in Morocco is set to boom as more and more tourists are enticed and an ever greater number of people chose the Moroccan Mediterranean over that of Spain and other more expensive locations.
